Planning Supervisor

Kalmar Solutions is seeking a Planning Supervisor. Based in the Ottawa, KS office, this position is the process owner and supervisor for the Materials Planning activities and personnel. You will calculate and control the short and long term planning to support the assembly process. This includes the planning activities required for demand from customer orders and forecasted bills of material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Vanguard for Department Policy Deployment indicators and corrective actions to fully support the Kalmar Production System (KPS) operating parameters. Including planning signals for Expedite, Cancel or Defer assembly component opportunities.
  • Liaison with Master Planner as related to customer order review, customer order scheduling and Integrated Business Planning adherence. Responsible for timely deployment of Engineering Bills of Material into the ERP production system to include Engineering Change orders.
  • Financial administration for department budgets and constraints. Also the end of financial period processing for production orders.
  • Accountable for the local process and governance for the Supply Chain Planning System and Transportation Management System
  • Ensure supplier delivery issues are reported and communicated in accordance with the escalation process.
  • Oversee the Planning Team to support the demand of the Production Schedule requirements and purchasing of MRO supplies.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • BS Degree in Business  or Supply Management preferred
  • Prefer 3+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment with Production Scheduling and multi-level bill of materials review
  • Prior experience working with Schedule lock alignment with equipment manufacturing
  • Strong business acumen. Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, including Production System, Demand Flow, Kanbans, Just-In-Time and Lean Manufacturing
  • Data analysis and problem solving skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and functional processes
  • Excellent communicator. Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Google Suites and computer skills
  • Highly self-motivated, reliable and demonstrate excellent time management skills
