Parts Sales Technician

Compensation Data

 

  • Salary: Starting @ $50,000/year
  • Eligible for annual bonus/salary review

Purpose of the position

 

Based in Ottawa, Kansas USA, this position will focus on providing technical data to the public and internal stakeholders. They will also be responsible for research, design, and implementation of ideas to enhance customer satisfaction and company profitability.
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Provide Spare Part technical support and product knowledge to Kalmar front line parts and service teams, dealers and customers
  • Work Collaboratively with Regional Parts Sales Managers and dealers to manage development within designated region. 
  • Participate in new product development projects
  • Daily interaction with dealers and field staff to answer inquiries regarding parts technical identification, availability within global system, order status, etc.
  • Entering special orders and internal ordering.
  • Learn and understand international shipping methods/Tracking
  • Liaison in researching part pricing and competitiveness
  • Following internal processes to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Ensure customer service and satisfaction.
  • Shift hours may be late morning to early evening (930pm to 6pm)

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

 

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.  Candidate with A.S. or B.S./B. A degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.

 

Experience:

 

  • Prior industrial equipment/automotive retail parts sales/customer service experience
  • Related experiences in Sourcing, engineering or other related fields would be considered

 

Competencies:

 

  • Good time management skills plus organization and prioritization abilities
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings and technical Bill of Material documents
  • Customer service oriented
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid interpersonal, communications and listening skills
  • Positive attitude
