Order Management Engineer

Kalmar is looking for a self-motivated, energetic team player to join our organization. This position will play an important part in, and contribute to the success of our US organization. 

Based in our office in Ottawa, KS, the Order Management Engineer will serve as the key support for the Order Management Team to interface with Solution Sales Support, Customer Engineering and MAU’s globally in all phases of a customer order.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Support Order to Invoice Process improvement to align to customer needs.  Work to provide transparency throughout the entire process. Support solutions to standardize, simplify and automate processes
  • Manage and improve the KIS Cost Item process to improve Solution Sales quoting quality.
  • Support Price List creation and updates. Responsible for setting price of options to support Segment strategy for Management approval.
  • Monitor Terminal Tractor Combined Gross Margin and identify training or process improvement needs
  • Support Sourcing in Product Cost standardization and accuracy
  • Represent Order Management  in New Product Development  Projects
  • Provide support for TT Order Management team
  • Manage completion of front line inquiries to support Sales Support Team  (KIS Super –User)
  • Drive content for Forecast BOM's and assure they are created and maintained to align with IBP output and actual production schedule. 12 Month rolling to be updated monthly if the capacity is changed from the previous IBP meetingMAU Interface processes
  • Help resolve supply issues at OTT, CICL and POL by finding substitute parts, possible axles for rework.
  • Review quantity and complexity of orders and communicate concerns or issues to the scheduling team. Work to reschedule machines if needed.
  • Review specification and determine part numbers for sourcing/planning to verify long lead time components
  • Review impact of change – globally. Manages the updating of Working Bills, Forecast Bills, Cost Items  Globally

What you’ll need to succeed:

Education:

  • A BS degree preferred (Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related work experience) 

 

Experience:

  • Work experience in order management, order to cash process, project management, customer engineering or production processes preferred.
  • Working knowledge of capacity planning/forecasting tools, invoicing and supply chain  preferred.
