Lean Senior Coach

Purpose of the position

The objective of this role is to act as a Lean expert and to support the establishment of a problem solving and continuous improvement culture in the Kalmar plant through the development of people and processes. The scope of this role covers all functions and processes. The role will report directly to the plant director and be part of the plant leadership team.

Main tasks and responsibilities

•    Coaching CI Activity (Kaizen, Problem solving, …) and the Culture change
•    Coordinate the development the Lean Road Maps for the Plant with the site Management Team
•    Develop the Lean mindset and knowledge through Continuous Improvement Activities
•    Support the Managers to identify opportunities
•    Organize regular Gemba walk with the Management team and Leaders
•    Train Lean tools and Methods according to the needs
•    Develop and maintain new training for future lean manufacturing needs
•    Facilitate the regular Lean governance (Review the Lean plan vs actual)
•    Promote the development of improvements ideas from the shopfloor
•    Support the development/maintenance of the overall Lean system
•    Lead/support strategic/tactical transformation projects that may be both functional and cross functional in nature such as Factory lay out transformations to reach world class levels
•    Promote the sharing and application of best practices across Kalmar and Cargotec through knowledge sharing events 

What you’ll need to succeed

Education
•    A university degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
Experience
•    A minimum of 10 years work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or logistic working as Lean Coach
•    Demonstrated subject matter expertise and successful transformation in Lean
•    Experience of applying lean in non-manufacturing settings (NPD, Sales, etc) is a plus
•    Ideally, candidate will also have additional experience in other manufacturing roles
