Human Resources Manager/Business Partner

Purpose of the position

 

Responsible for creating and owning the people agenda, as a critical part of the overall business direction and strategy for a $.5 B, US-based unionized (Right to Work State) assembly facility of a global entity.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

This is a hands-on position that requires one to stretch up strategically, in conjunction with the leadership team, but willing and able to be on the ground to understand critical factors in creating and building change.  Especially important will be the understanding of the current working environment, and identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to build a positive and productive work environment.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

 

Kalmar operates in a LEAN manufacturing environment.  The successful candidate will be the type of individual who gets involved on the assembly floor, dives in to understand the root cause of issues and rolls up their sleeves to drive solutions home to completion, fostering partnerships with employees, management and labor representation. 
Proven ability to understand the business, and to partner effectively with business leaders to create meaningful results which align people, processes and tools to ensure achievement of business objectives.

 

Successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:


•HR leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
•Demonstrated ability to understand business models and align HR objectives
•Proven track record of effectively managing labor relations in a union environment
•Experience working with and developing leadership teams and line management
•Track record of leading change and enhancing company culture
•Demonstrated longer-term thinking and planning
•Excellent communication and relationship building skills


Educational Requirements:

 

•B.A/B.S Degree
•Advanced degree in Human Resources,  or Organizational Design or similar field preferred
