EHS Coordinator

Responsible for administering the Company’s EHS systems along with creating and implementing training initiatives in order to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This position will oversee processes to assure compliance with corporate EHS goals and objectives as well as applicable OSHA, EPA, federal and state EHS regulations.

Main tasks and responsibilities

●    Administer Internal Audit Program to Maintain ISO and OSHA compliance.
●    Analyse and evaluate current EHS processes, processes, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulatory requirements.
●    Design, implement, and maintain all EHS processes and policies to minimise/ eliminate safety risks and occupational hazards associated with work practices.
●    Supervise generation of Risk Assessments and track progress throughout the site.
●    Establish and maintain facility records for occupational and environmental health and safety including documentation on training and certifications.
●    Perform periodic safety inspections and compliance audits.
●    Assess EHS training needs and ensure all employees receive necessary and required training.  Coordinate and/or administer training.
●    Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine the cause and recommend changes to work practices, equipment, work areas to eliminate future safety risks.
●    Work with outside safety organisations to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary contact to internal EHS organisations and external organisations.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:
●    BA in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering or equivalent discipline desired
●    HAZWOPER 29 CFR 1910.120 Certification
●    OSHA 24 Hour Course completion 

Experience:
●    Minimum 3-5 years related to EHS experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.  Experience or education in ergonomics and environmental compliance are highly desirable.

Competencies:
●    Requires professional specialisation in industrial health and safety and technical skills to perform the responsibilities of the position
●    Requires a thorough knowledge of regulations concerning site compliance with environment, health, and safety.
●    Requires the ability to convert environmental, health and safety program goals into site-specific action plans.
●    Must Have well-developed people and communication skills in order to handle all situations. 
●    Must have well-developed writing and verbal skills sufficient to design, deliver, and communicate training, rules and processes; to solve problems and resolve conflict; to investigate incidents; and prepare compliance reports.
●    Must have the ability to identify training needs; develop and implement programs with strong presentation and training skills.
●    Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
