Kalmar Solutions, is seeking a Development Engineer, Electrics Intern to be based in Ottawa, KS.  The Development Engineer, Electrics Intern is responsible for the development and coordination of Systems design for Electronics, Controls and Mechatronics regarding Terminal Tractor (TT) within Mobile Equipment division (MED) based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies. 
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

●    Develop electrical, controls and mechatronic designs for our TT product line.  
●    Integrate electrical components into truck chassis and cabins where product systems include hydraulics, pneumatics, structures and powertrain. 
●    Develop Network Databases for CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
●    Develop vehicle network topologies by implementing Kalmar Solutions standards.
●    Understand current vehicle architecture and plan upgrades.
●    Ensures the use of engineering standards, methodologies and global product development processes into engineering team’s daily work tasks. 
 

What you’ll need to succeed

•    High School diploma or equivalent required
•    Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering 

 

Competencies
•    Knowledge required: Bill of Material Structures, CAD System AUTOCAD 2-D, INVENTOR 3-D Modeling Systems (experience         with CATIA or PRO-E is acceptable) and PC Software Applications.
•    Strong aptitude toward electrical, controls and mechatronic design
•    Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
•    Proficient in the use of Google software including Sheets, Docs
•    Strong work ethic, dependable
•    High Attention to Detail
