CAD Systems Administrator

Purpose of Position:

As the CAD Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, 
configuration, maintenance, and support of the following software applications: 3DS, CATIA,
Solidworks, Autodesk, Jira, SVN, and Smartsheet. You will be the primary point of contact for
end-users and will work closely with users and peers to ensure the proper functioning of these applications.
This position reports to the Manager, Programs and Engineering Process.

The position will be based in Ottawa, Kansas, USA. 



Main tasks and responsibilities:


  • Install, configure, and maintain the 3DS, Autodesk, Catia, Jira, Smartsheet, Solidworks, SVN, and other software applications
  • Monitor systems performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Plan and implement system upgrades, patches, and security configurations for these applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and coordinate with developers when necessary
  • Manage user accounts and access control for these applications
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements to these applications
  • Maintain documentation of systems configurations and procedures for these applications
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures for these applications
  • Provide end-user training and support for these applications
  • Monitor and ensure user compliance to documented procedures and work instructions



What You Need to Succeed:


  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, software engineering or a related field
  • At least 2 years experience administering one or more of the above applications
  • Can-do attitude and the ability to approach challenges with enthusiasm and tenacity.
  • Strong knowledge of the installation, configuration, and maintenance of these applications
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and related tools
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Results oriented
