Development Engineer, Automation & Controls

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 
Develop and support control systems for current and future projects. Also, to assist in other design tasks when needed.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 
•    Responsible for control system development for all product lines within the Terminal Tractor (TT) Businuess Line. Including but not limited to component selection, programming of electronic control modules, schematics, harnesses, interfaces with other components, etc..
•    Perform mechanical design tasks when necessary

 

What you'll need to succeed:


Education
•    Undergraduate degree in Electrical, Electronics or Controls Engineering preferred
•    Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering would be acceptable if the applicant can provide examples showing experience in controls systems design or the willingness & aptitude to learn control system design


Experience
•    2+ years in design experience preferred
•    Licensed PE or ability to obtain PE license preferred


Competencies
•    Strong  aptitude toward control system logic
•    Strong understanding of assembly processes and good understanding of manufacturing processes
•    Good skills in 3D CAD systems, CATIA V5  experience preferred
•    Theoretical and applied knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems related to mobile equipment preferred
•    Good organization skills
•    Good communication skills
•    Fluent in English both spoken and written
•    Good problem solving skills
