Assistant Manager - Accounts and Finance

Main tasks and responsibilities

Managing end-to-end accounts payable process as per standard operating procedures set by company.

  • Monitor, facilitate financial systems and processes w.r.t vendor, employee travel management 
  • Vendor management - group and foreign vendors, local vendors, travel ledger, employee-related accounts
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of accounts payable, expenses booking and payments, to ensure all control checks are performed at all levels, before the final payment to vendors
  • To validate vendor invoices with purchase orders / rate contracts
  • To ensure invoices are appropriately approved in compliance with financial policies and procedures, also reference detail of PO, cost centre/division/location, payment due date are updated properly
  • To make proper provision of pending GRN, open Job Orders/POs, unbooked invoice, and open financial commitments where invoices have not been received
  • Keep effective control to ensure all pay requests are generated on due dates and no overdue outstanding / undue delays in processing of payments
  • Analyze data on pending accounts payable, investigates delays and take appropriate action for smooth functioning of accounts payable operations
  • Timely closing of monthly accounts
  • Participate and act as key user in the development, testing, and implementation of accounts payable systems, processes, and procedures

 

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Expert knowledge of financial accounting and accounts payable processes - ability to understand, interpret, and expedite detailed and complex accounts payable transactions and documents
  • Knowledge in taxation issues particularly in income tax, TDS, excise, GST, customs and other laws affecting all business areas of the company.        
  • Organizing and coordinating skills, data management and tracking skills
  • The holder of the position must be able to prioritize and schedule tasks to develop work strategies to plan, execute and meet timelines;must be proactive and hands-on, constantly keep abreast of changes in the field of work and be a good team player in order to interact with all levels.
