Purpose of the position

 

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the VP HR, Sales & Markets. The HR Business Partner acts as a strategic business partner for the Market Area regionally, enabling the business to implement the strategy.  She/he will partner with business leaders and their leadership teams to enable the business to perform and execute the strategy from the people-point of view. 

 

The HR Business Partner develops and implements the HR strategy for the Market Area to address the business needs, aligned with the KAMOS  business and HR strategy. She/he provides strategic and tactical support in key business initiatives and projects, developing organization, organizational efficiency and capabilities and competencies of people, and enhancing KAMOS values and culture within the business lines. Geographically the role covers Australia and New Zealand.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Implement the annual and long term people strategies and organizational goals and actions for the Market Area, and utilize the global Cargotec HR processes in this work
  • Provide strategic and/or tactical partnering and coaching (across all HR processes) that contribute to the strategy and business direction
  • Proactively provide meaningful HR input, support and advice to all Market Area leadership teams; including input to business unit HR budgets and organizational design and development
  • Act as a sounding board and give support for the Market Area  head and leadership team in HR related topics
  • Manage the people side of the business specific projects and provide change management support in these projects
  • Responsible for footprint planning including budgeting of headcount and employment cost as well as the applicable approval processes (e.g. HC changes and recruitments)
  • Utilize the Organization & Talent Review and Succession Planning to develop the capabilities within the Market Area to realize it’s strategic objectives
  • Support the individual leadership development of the leaders and the effectiveness of the leadership teams
  • Enhance employee engagement within the Market Area based on the Compass and Pulse surveys
  • Develop organizational effectiveness through the workforce planning and utilizing HR analytics
  • Enhance the Performance Management culture and ambition in the business unit
  • Utilize and execute compensation and benefits strategies and plans
  • Partner with the leadership team in strategic resourcing issues, (i.e. C9+ level position recruitments), assess talent and facilitate the selection process
  • Lead the work of the HR network in collaboration with CBS
  • Ensure successful HR transition and harmonization initiatives within the responsibility area; guide to utilize the correct HR service channels
  • Ensure that any mergers & acquisitions executed are in line with Market Area and SBU resourcing plan
  • Act as an escalation point for strategic and tactical items within all Market Area locations
  • Contribute to the execution of  global HR policies
  • Oversee HR compliance responsibilities within the Market Area

What you’ll need to succeed:

 

Education:

  • Master’s level degree preferably but not essential 

 

Experience:

  • More than 8 years of relevant experience in HR Business Partner, line HR or similar
  • Strong knowledge and experience of all key HR processes
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment
  • Genuine interest in understanding the business beyond the surface
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good negotiations skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and to build networks
  • Organizational systems thinking
  • Business cultural insight
  • Fluent in English, other relevant language skills are an asset
  • Part Time 6 Month Contract (Renewable according to business needs)
