Field Service Technician

Purpose of the position

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter. The purpose of the job is to provide installation, maintenance and support of Kalmar mobile equipment and other hydraulic mechanical equipment.

The role provides the opportunity to deliver mobile field service assistance to our customers with a fully equipped service vehicle.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Getting the job done within a timeframe, to the Kalmar standard
• Maintain continual compliance with OH&S requirements of industry standards
• Care and maintenance of service vehicle
• Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner
• Attend OEM Kalmar training as required
• New product installations completed to high quality
• Accurate service reports
• Technical fault-finding ability: Hydraulic / Electrical / Mechanical

What you’ll need to succeed

• Formal trade qualification (vehicle, mechanic,  diesel mechanic, heavy vehicles - Fitter & Turner)
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience in the mechanical handling, port or industrial operations industry sector
• Effective time management skills
• Sound analytical and numeracy skills
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to deal with all customers and stakeholders in the business)
• Customer oriented and relationship building
• Motivating and inspiring people
• Ability to participate in all training and development programs
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability
