Electrician

Purpose of the position

  • Perform corrective maintenance repairs, general repair work and preventative maintenance (PM's) on all Port Equipment (e.g. Cranes, Straddles etc.).
  • Assist product support teams with onsite presence, fault finding and remote programming of terminal equipment
  • Assist product support teams with delivery of new Mobile Plant/Equipment

What you’ll need to succeed:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and emergency corrective repairs on assorted Port Equipment
  • Carry out PM servicing as required in compliance with PM schedules provided
  • Perform isolations and isolations procedures to support other colleagues work (e.g. mechanical)
  • Ensure all repair and service work is carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company OHS&E regulations.

Examples of Port Equipment you would be working on:

  • Ship To Shore (STS) Cranes / Quay Cranes (QC)
  • Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC)
  • Straddle Carriers (SC) / Shuttle Carriers (SHU)
  • Assorted Gantry Cranes (RMG, RTG etc)

Technical Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Australian or recognized Electrical Trade qualification (Grade A) 
  • Either hold or ability to hold Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical (incl. D&A screening)
  • Hold an unrestricted Drivers Licence (car)
  • Ability to work at height on assorted mobile equipment
  • Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience: specializing in fault finding, repairs and PM service on heavy plant/equipment (e.g. Cranes, Earthmoving Equipment, Container Handling Equipment, Mining equipment etc)
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electronics and/or diesel engines

Desirable:

  • Forklift License
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence
  • Dogging / Rigging Licence(s)
  • Working at Heights Training
