VP Lifecycle Management & Training

Purpose of the position


The purpose of this position will be to take overall leadership service life cycle management and develop and execute the strategy for aftersales lifetime product care including refurbishment and fleet management (FMG) operating model; and Commercial Training business profitability on a global level of  Kalmar Mobile Solution business. The function will own profit & loss responsibility for the lifecycle management and commercial training and ensuring profitability through an effective operating model.




  • Develop and execute product refurbishment strategy in a close collaboration with Divisions and Market Area
  • Conduct competitor and market analyses for refurbishment opportunity; product positioning and messages; support the development and deliveries, sales & tools. Identify and consolidate market needs and manage product refurbishment offering
  • Represent services in cross-functional project teams led from global / regional functions, e.g. Product Development, Product Launches, Program Management Teams to ensure the integration of lifecycle opportunities in early stages
  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the specific product/product group in relation to life cycle management, and create and maintain fact-based analyses and present business case for the new product opportunities
  • Develop efficient Fleet business as a part of flexible comprehensive customer solutions and as traditional FMG business
  • To balance and maintain the value of equipment in stock with pre-planned sales activities of pre-owned equipment and short-term rental. To develop strategies and tactics for managing risk and opportunities in residual values obligations. To actively coordinate need and supply in different markets in order to reduce turnaround time.
  • Mentor/coach MA organization and directly provide formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Baseline ‘as-is’ learning/knowledge/skills/expertise and ensure leading practice knowledge is leveraged across MA.
  • Support the establishment of learning, and a core approach for key tools, and methods.
What you’ll need to succeed:



  • University degree in Technical or Business Management



  • Minium 10 years of experience in the industry and solid experience in business management or similar position
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in international and multicultural work
  • Leadership in a global matrix team environment
  • Services business experience
  • Experience in Kalmar type of products



  • Strong business- and market sense and mind-set
  • Advanced knowledge of Equipment and Service and deep understanding of the pre-owned and short term rental business
