Thesis Worker, Cost Engineer

Making your next move count

Today we need to keep close control of the cost of our products. Cost Engineering supports that task with calculating cost of our products during its life cycle. From early design to implementation. We support with suggesting cost effective manufacturing solutions, design to cost, and to make the cost drivers and should cost visible.
We are looking for someone to enhance our cost calculation precision and accuracy in different manufacturing processes, to break down manufacturing processes, to map and validate all cost drivers for various processes.
The location is Ljungby, Sweden.

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Optimize chosen processes output, from a cost calculating view
  • Find improvements that can be done to calculation processes
  • Research level of surcharges associated with different manufacturing processes.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • BSc, MSc or other degree in engineering, economics, business administration, international business, engineering or equivalent
  • Background in manufacturing e.g. metal-, electric-, plastic fabrication
  • Knowledge when it comes to cost drivers within your selected manufacturing process
  • Knowledge in regards to cost drivers in systems and processes
  • Knowledge when it comes to cost of production equipment, raw material, utility and recourses
  • Knowledge when it comes to financial statements and business controlling.
