Sourcing Project Leader

Kalmar is looking for a Sourcing Project Leader to join and secure total cost-efficient products and solutions within the responsible areas.

 

  • Contribute with sourcing input and cost calculation in business line roadmap development 
  • Lead sourcing Activities in NPD & technology projects
  • Manage, control and  follow product cost by BOM in NPD and on existing configurations
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Kalmar global sourcing organization on CB sourcing activities.


 
The sourcing Project Lead will be working together with all parts of our global organization and towards suppliers, Global Sourcing Team Members, R&D Team Members, Project Management Team Members, Sales and market, and Counterbalanced Container Handlers' Division Management.
 
The location of this position is Ljungby, Sweden. This is a hybrid position, you will be required to come to the office 2 to 3 days per week.

 

You will report to Jerry Dang, Head of Sourcing, Counter Balanced Division.



 

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to CB Division Strategy and Sourcing strategy 
  • Actively participate in Kalmar global category-work and contribute into Category strategies
  • Support Division strategy and targets by initiate and coordinate actions to reduce product cost, improve product quality and supply chain
  • Make product cost and supply chain risk analyses for different scenarios in the Product Roadmap 
  • In line with CB Division and category strategy make BC-proposals on pre-studies and projects for product roadmap to decrease cost, improve quality/delivery and decrease risk 
  • Keep track on costing, risk, quality and lead times for potential key components for the Product roadmap
  • Make sourcing plan/strategy for NPD in cooperation with global sourcing category team
  • Secure early involvement and initiate cross functional workshops with KALMAR sourcing team, R&D and market to support NPD-targets
  • Lead pre-studies to make fact-based evaluation for new strategic components/systems designed and owned by supplier based on input from R&D, testing, market and customer feedback, service and global sourcing
  • Manage and deliver cost  BOM throughout the project phases.
  • Lead sourcing activities and negotiations in NPD
  • Plan and initiate activities to secure phase in/phase out plan for key components.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science or similar interest and experience
  • 5 years or above in project management, product management or sourcing in manufacturing environment
  • Solid engineering background for technical discussions with Engineering teams and suppliers.
  • Can-do attitude and the ability to approach challenges with enthusiasm and tenacity.
  • High level of interpersonal relationship skills
  • High-level ability for cross-functional team collaboration
  • Drive and result oriented
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellence in presentation and communication
  • Passion for sourcing and cost reduction
  • Fluent in English.
