We are looking for a skilled Prototype Technician to assist in the development and testing of our innovative products. The Prototype Technician will work closely with our engineering team to build, assemble, and test prototype designs, ensuring they meet quality standards and performance requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsible for performing prototype workshop activities including the construction, reworking and maintenance of our development mobile equipment. The role requires understanding of inspection and maintenance processes of our mobile equipment. The role also includes an element of technical support and training as required from other departments. Responsible for testing our machines at the test area, verifying our new products and machines.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Prototype and low-volume product assembly
  • Quality inspection of components and sub-assemblies
  • Discovery and diagnosis of faults, functional problems and durability issues, mechanical, hydraulic, and electric/electronic
  • Product testing
  • Building of test rigs for component and structural durability testing
  • Manufacturing process and product development support
  • Perform work according to test procedures, engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

  • Technician or equivalent background.

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 Years’ experience in assembly or in a prototype workshops
  • Experience of working with heavy equipment
  • Mechanical assembly in a quality-controlled environment
  • Creation and development of processes and documentation e.g. process instructions
  • Following quality procedures and completing relevant documentation
  • Fault finding, testing and diagnostics
  • Manufacturing / new product introduction process.
