Do you want to make a real impact on the world? We are now looking for a Climate Data Analyst in Kalmar.
In this role you will collect, analyse and present information about potential business opportunities and KPI data within the field of Kalmar climate management to drive strategic and operational decisions. This role is primarily focused on assisting with collecting, analysing and reporting a variety of data to properly drive the sustainability and climate agenda and meet the commitments of being a Science Based target company. Close collaboration with the Cargotec Mission Climate team will also be required. Product use phase data analytics will also be required from time to time.
This position is based in Ljungby and you will report to Kalmar’s Head of Sustainability. This is a hybrid job with the possibility to work from home.

Main tasks and responsibilities


Your main tasks will consist of assessing data requirements and supply master data related to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), carbon intensity (tCO2e/M€) of portfolio, Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG), Supply chain engagement and performance, Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), CRU International data related to steel. You will identify opportunities for improvements with data availability, enterprise data architecture, data processing, reporting, and analytics and audit data quality and identify gaps. You will also deliver results to various stakeholders in a self-service reporting environment and by delivering reports and comparative analytics as needed  and coordinate information flow of the above-mentioned topics within the corporation (assure that respective businesses are aware of the inputs).
Other tasks:


  • Create climate data models and system reports, scenario analysis, etc.
  • Act as an advocate for data and reporting needs for Sustainability
  • Support Kalmar and Cargotec to build & maintain CO2 emission reporting systems, integrated with sourcing data and adding CO2 emissions impact in sourcing projects. This includes supporting IM to harmonise and change system platforms to control master data
  • Build & maintain Eco portfolio reporting systems and emissions tools.



What you’ll need to succeed


  • Typically university (Bachelor's degree) level or vocational qualification / relevant working experience
  • Familiar with Kalmar or Cargotec master data and key systems (e.g. GCP, SAP, ERP ́s, CR360)
  • Preferred experience with management of large amounts and complexity of data, reporting, or analytics
  • Undertake advanced statistical analysis and use statistical tools and models
  • Emissions calculation (GHG Protocol) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) knowledge or willingness to learn
  • Solid understanding of best practices of reporting and data visualisation practices.

Our new colleague is someone with strong communication skills, fluent in English, a data-oriented problem solver, able to work independently to complete given assignments.
You have a background in Information Management and a preferred experience with data quality and auditing, project management experience is beneficial.
