Service Manager (Northern)

Purpose of the position

The Service Manager will perform business development activities in the area / region of control. The Service Manager will work closely with clients in the market to determine and create a forecast of future works, work value, duration, and required resources.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively, manage resources to deliver positive outcomes for our clients.
  • Develop and maintain a forecast of work for your area of control
  • Engage with existing and potential clients to performed business development activities
  • Provide quotations for work meeting and or exceeding target gross margin.
  • When time permits conduct maintenance & servicing of plant and equipment.
  • Risk & hazard assessment as associated with allocated tasks.
  • Liaise with & assist any specialist contract negotiations as appropriate.
  • Manage client relationship ensuring work delivery exceeds expectations.
  • Allocate resources to work maximising billable utilisation
  • Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Comply with the requirements of Inver Port Services, Kalmar Australia, and Cargotec Policies and Procedures
  • Comply with Code of Conduct requirements
  • Report for work in a fit state and not under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs
  • Perform all duties with honesty and integrity

 

Education and Training

Essential:

  • Trade Qualifications
  • Project Management experience
  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)

Desirable:

  • Bachelor degree in an engineering or business discipline
  • Container Terminal Asset Maintenance Experience

Work Experience / Skills:

  • Business management
  • Personnel management
