Senior Support Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of success as an Automation Support Engineer within the software and/or hardware industry. You will be working in a customer support environment, consulting with customers, resolving issues, handling cases and providing fixes to technical problems as well as liaising with the Software and Hardware Engineering teams for more complex fixes. 

To be selected, you must be able to articulate how you are different from your peers and why this leads to exceptional results.  This position will be located in the greater New York/New Jersey area.

●    Reviewing and verifying software bug reports via web based tools, email, and telephone
●    Troubleshooting technical issues reported by customers to determine problem root cause
●    Installation and configuration of software bug patch fixes for Oracle/Unix based, C++, Pascal, and J2EE based software products
●    Customer-facing management of outstanding customer issues regarding software implementations, questions about documentation, etc.

What you’ll need to succeed:


●    BA in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other relevant field required
●    At least 5 years of experience in technical software support required
●    In depth knowledge of computer networking (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP) required
●    Knowledge of Radio Frequency communications, RFID, etc highly desired
●    Working knowledge of satellite navigation (GPS, GLONASS) desired
●    Working knowledge of Unix, Oracle, C++, Pascal and/or J2EE required
●    Knowledge of API’s, XML, Web Services required
●    Industry knowledge of marine terminal operations/management a big plus
●    Good customer service and verbal/written communication skills 
●    Proven troubleshooting and problem solving capability a must
