Assistant Manager - Solution Sales

Purpose of the position

Generate business of container handler equipment from existing customers and develop new customers. Special focus on industrial sales and rental segment development of Forklift to customers on regional basis.

This position based in Chennai, India.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Visit and meet new potential customers and understand their business need, which can be met out by Kalmar product line.
  • Visit existing customers and improve the relations with Kalmar.
  • Process of responsibility – Identifying the solution – preparing an offer in consultation with sales support – offer submission – follow up – negotiations – order collection – payment follow up – C Form follow up – delivery – order closing.
  • High light segments – Industrial Units / ICD / CFS / Steel handling at manufacturing and nodal depots.
  • Market intelligence reports on competition activities, new business opportunities.
  • Weekly and monthly report to Sales Head.

What you’ll need to succeed

We seek applicants who are BE / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Automobile Engineering. MBA would be additional advantage.


3 - 6 years of sales experience, preferably on industrial / equipment / Heavy equipments. Knowhow in forklifts business would be an added advantage.

Working conditions

Working conditions are normal and similar to a sales organisation and sometimes entails working at odd hours and travelling frequently and at short notice.
