Service Operations Manager

Kalmar is looking for a Service Operations Manager for Iberia, who reporting directly to the Service Operations Director for the Market Area,  will be responsible for Lead the Service Business Unit. With P&L responsibility has to secure the Service Unit  Budget, formulating and implementing the Local Unit strategy and Business Plan according to the Company´s Strategy,  developing and consolidating  the  commercial relationship with existing customer and the new ones.

Main tasks and responsibilities


  • Lead Service Business Unit, developing and securing the Sales Budget and Forecast, and the P&L Results.
  • Formulation, implementation and developing of the sales strategy and Business Plan, assuring the unit targets.
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers, building positive relationships which generate future sales and repeat business.
  • Draw the Annual Unit Budget.
  • Consolidate  existing customer relationships assuring the retention and business repetition
  • Active Sales and Market research, identifying new customer and possible new sectors to break into.
  • Negotiate and construct profitable and appropriate terms of service Sales, according to Company Policies.
  • Assure,  together with the Unit´s Teams,   Service Contracts and Maintenance Services profitability
  • Assure, together with the Unit´s Teams, that Service Contracts and Maintenance Services meet the Customer Requirements according to the scope.
  • Analyze Performance and economic KPI´s, taking action to avoid cost deviations or underperformance situations.
  • Analyze Customer Satisfaction Indicators and take action to improve when needed.
  • Deal with the customer on daily basis, attending meetings and maintaining a fluid and direct communication channel.
  • Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts in the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Service Global Organization for the Service Business Development when needed.

What you´ll need to succeed


Education and Experience


  • We expect you to have an Engineering Sciences qualification, MSc or BSc. Master or Postgraduate in Maintenance Service.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar position within port cranes, Heavy Plant/Industrial Equipment or similar industry, in an international environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Service Maintenance routines and Industrial Machinery
  • Spanish and full command of English is a must.
  • The position will requires travel to different Locations or Countries within the assigned territory
