Sourcing Manager

DEL is looking for a Sourcing Manager to implement sourcing plans and tactics, and effectively manage the assigned portfolio and associated activities. An important aspect of this role is maximising supplier performance and supporting the company’s business plan and objectives.

This role reports to the DEL End to End Supply Manager and is aligned with the Global Sourcing Director. 

The role will include a significant amount of foreign travel.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Implements plans to assure orders meet specified quality and delivery times and to minimize the total cost of purchases
  • Negotiate with suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Identifies cost reduction opportunities with suppliers and deliver improvements in the total cost of supply DEL
  • To develop and manage vendor partnerships and control the contractual and commercial obligations of each supplier
  • Ensure that the interests of DEL are managed in a professional and ethical manner throughout all interactions with suppliers, ensuring full compliance with DEL policies.

As a further focus of this role, the Sourcing Manager will be required to undertake general procurement activities by supporting the new vendor process, data analysis, spend and compliance reporting and the roll out of new processes and policies.  The role will involve international travel in support of meeting with the expectations of the position.

  • Utilise cost modelling and negotiation methodology, and negotiate prices and contractual agreements
  • Conduct Supplier Audit Evaluations in Conjunction with Quality Dept
  • Formulate, agree and maintain commercial terms and conditions, service level and supply agreements
  • Develop and Mentor other members of the team in procurement and sourcing best practice.

What you’ll need to succeed:

The Sourcing Manager should be capable of working in a dynamic and complex business environment, with people at all levels, and should demonstrate interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade both internal customers and suppliers, work well in a team and have a good knowledge of contract law. The candidate should have demonstrable negotiation experience, and be able to act on their initiative, whilst maintaining attention to detail. This will include selling and demonstrating the benefits of professional procurement to internal customers and representing the organisation externally. 

The Sourcing Manager should be an active member of a high achieving team aiming at meeting and improving on Key Performance Indicators, working closely with all key stakeholders to deliver world class results.  

Ideally you have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in fields of supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing
  • CIPS Qualification or equivalent
  • At least three years experience of working within a purchasing function at a management or senior level.
  • Strong analytical & people management competences
  • Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal), and strong computer skills
  • Strong track record of improvement achievements
  • Solid MRP knowledge (Ideally SYSPRO) – be able to use reporting functionality
  • Commercial Acumen
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • Relationship/Stakeholder management
  • Change Management.
