After Sales Operation Manager

As part of Hiab, DEL are a leading UK manufacturer of Tail Lifts and Bin Lifts based in Witney, Oxfordshire. As well as supporting DEL products, the Witney location also distributes and supports its sister brand ZEPRO.

DEL After Sales is looking for an After Sales Operations Manager to manage and control the day-to-day running of the After Sales office.

The main functions within After Sales are:

  • Customer support - parts identification, technical assistance/fault finding
  • Proactive selling of Parts
  • Selling and the administration of Service Sales – training, installation, maintenance packages, extended warranty
  • Warranty handling
  • Managing 24/7 breakdown service through a network of DEL approved Service Agents.


​​​​​After Sales growth and development is a key focus for the business and the After Sales Operation Manager is a new important role to help facilitate this. This role will report to the After Sales Director and will be based in Witney, Oxfordshire.


Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Managing the After Sales department and team 
  • Responsible for proactive sales growth
  • Be directly involved with all the main functions within After Sales, leading by example
  • Manage major product campaigns
  • Ensure the team are working together to achieve the functions overall objectives
  • Ensure the processes and systems being used are constantly effective, efficient, and aligned to the strategy
  • Ensure customers are responded to in a timely manner by phone and email
  • Proactively see and promote opportunities for selling parts (and service) when dealing with customer issues.
     
What you’ll need to succeed:

The After Sales Operations Manager should have experience of managing a team to support customer needs whilst maximising every opportunity for growth. The successful applicant should lead by example and bring the team together with a can do attitude. They should have a desire to resolve technical product issues or process problems, proactively engaging with other functions within the business where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5yrs+ experience as an After Sales Operations Manager or similar role in Service / automotive industry
  • Ability to plan, organise, and manage all aspects of an After Market office function
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to work under pressure
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop employees
  • Ability to drive tasks through to completion
  • Have a customer centric focus
  • Good understanding of basic electrics, hydraulics, and mechanical engineering would be preferred
  • Confident using new software packages, and experienced with MS Office and Google Suite
  • Curious analytical mindset, confident using spreadsheets for control, structure and to aid decision making
  • Academic degree would be an advantage (e.g. bachelor or master’s degree in commercial subjects or engineering).
