Site Procurement Specialist

Compensation Data

 

 

Salary ranges from $80,000-$90,000 based on skills and experience. 

Purpose of the position

 

 

  • Secure Operations are able to run with maximum efficiency while remaining focused on the long-term business strategic objectives
  • Responsible for timely resolution of operational supply escalations (Delivery L1) within the Cargotec agreed framework
  • Responsible for source selection affecting local operational supply and identifying, tracking and implementing category-driven cost-saving actions into site P&L (TCO) to meet the year-on-year productivity targets for the respective business line
  • Accountable for executing local (CAPEX & OPEX) procurement activities to minimize total acquisition cost
  • Responsible for local supplier management system and providing needed inputs to central Sourcing systems as required

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

 

  • Identification, development and execution of the local procurement activities securing capacity, supplier consolidation to secure continuity of supply and emerging business needs aligned with business strategy to deliver lowest total acquisition cost (TCO)
  • Be the go to person for the local material planners to address/escalate re-occurring supply issues
  • Participate in NPD project and feed requirements for material sourcing to the respective Sourcing Manager, to source supply at cost and quality
  • Responsible for challenging price increase delivered from Strategic Sourcing teams and getting the appropriate approvals
  • Responsible for accuracy and management of local ERP price lists, timely update, challenging price increases, getting approvals and securing site PPV (Purchase Price Variance) improvements
  • Manage and implement engineering changes for suppliers in line with the local process
  • Operational responsibility and implementing cost saving actions to meet the year on year productivity targets for the business 
  • Participate locally in the Hiab QAP (PPAP) process with support of Supplier Development
  • Coordinate with the Strategic Sourcing teams to identify, track and manage and introduce new suppliers as appropriate and in line with global processes to meet the current and future needs of the business
  • Be the owner of a specific material master database on PFEP (Plan for every part) and execute recommendations with suppliers on stocking policies, packaging requirements, procurement principles, etc.
  • Close cooperation with Strategic Sourcing teams to support capacity planning and scalability/flexibility supply to meet business needs
  • Participate in contract negotiation, frame agreement, including payment terms within Hiab contracting framework to ensure alignment with local business requirements
  • In conjunction with Strategic Sourcing teams and Supplier Development; generate supplier risk mitigation programs to ensure minimized disruption for the business
  • Provide support to escalate, drive recovery plans and resolve supplier quality/delivery issues using root cause analysis tools & methodology to ensure production requirements are secured in line with company Escalation model 
  • Escalations Delivery - L1
  • Adherence to and maintenance of all relevant Purchasing processes and systems, in line with Central Sourcing and Group Policy

What you’ll need to succeed

 

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma/equivalent required
  • Degree Level/equivalent with relevant engineering, commercial and/or industrial experience

Working experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant industrial experience (truck, construction machines, mining, agriculture or automotive)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in planning or sourcing roles in an international and multi-site company
  • Experience in working with suppliers with global multi-site footprint and managing supplier relations and negotiations
  • Project management, cross-functional improvement teams and supplier development programs
  • Experience in using ERP systems (Preferably Infor LN.10)
  • Experience in complex steel assemblies/hydraulic systems/electrical & electronics preferred

  • Excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills when working with different senior level roles internally within Hiab and Cargotec and externally with different suppliers
  • BCC/LCC Sourcing in EMEA and APAC
  • Senior level contract and commercial negotiation
