We, at Hiab, are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Developer with a passion for technology to contribute to our vision of providing unparalleled customer service experiences.

You will be a member of our team developing digital software products for our customers and building data driven web and mobile applications.

The position is located in Tampere, Finland.
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Design, code, test, debug, and document software solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to coding standards
• Collaborate with other team members to design scalable, robust, and maintainable software architectures
• Analyse technical problems and propose creative solutions, considering factors such as performance, scalability, and usability
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand and clarify business requirements, translating them into technical specifications
• Ensure the quality of software products through testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing
• Use version control systems (e.g., Git) effectively and collaborate with team members using tools such as issue trackers and code review platforms
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring fast and reliable delivery of software
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API documentation, and user guides.
   

What you’ll need to succeed

• MSc degree or BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• A few years of hands-on experience with core AWS services such as ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and VPC
• Experience in designing, implementing, and optimising relational databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Amazon RDS
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, preferably CDK
• React (or other web framework) skills would be great, but willingness to learn and work also on frontend is more important
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
• Understanding of testing methodologies, tools and best practices e.g. test automation with Robot Framework.
