Project Manager

Purpose of the position

Project Manager is responsible for overall direction, planning and coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, deadlines, budget and goals. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

Main tasks and responsibilities


  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents according to the Cargotec processes.
  • Project budget
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Manage project risks and secure quality of product and project.


  • Create role specific time and activity plans.
  • Estimate the resources together with resource owners and participants needed to achieve project goals,
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities within the project teams.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.


Execute and follow up

  • Set and continually manage project expectations/ risks with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
We expect from you
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in managing complex and multi-discipline projects/programs
  • Qualification in project management or equivalent
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management and techniques and tools,
  • Ability to interact effectively with executive level clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent analysis, problem-solving, conflict management and time management skills
  • Proven experience in risk management, productization of products, knowledge about company logistics and Sourcing activities.
