Service Manager - Scotland

We are seeking a friendly outgoing professional who knows the industry and can boost the parts sales and service revenue. Totally focused on the customer is a must so we need someone that’s truly committed with an ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. An exciting and new opportunity to manage Hiab Scotland field service and installation operations.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage an installation team of 14 within the workshop 
  • Management of a team of 4 field and site based service engineers and scheduling of the workshop and/ or field service engineers’ daily workloads
  • Manage office administration staff and develop and follow all operating processes and procedures
  • Manage the parts department and grow in line with Hiab Scotland strategy
  • Work in conjunction with the overall HIAB UK Installation strategy and contribute to continuous improvements within this area of operation
  • Coordination of parts deliveries for assigned jobs and parts sales supply and deliveries

  • Provide local technical /engineering first line support where needed on occasion
  • Workshop job co-ordination, parts supply and stock holding both in house and for service

  • Manage and allocate jobs to deliver and support HIAB maintenance contracts
  • Visit existing and new customers along with sales when required to assess customer needs and suggest appropriate solutions and services
  • Manage assigned customer relations and be the main point of contact for service enquiries
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat service business
  • Work closely with local sales team and refer potential sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts
  • Collaborate with technical support representatives in the Market Area to coordinate and channel technical support from HIAB functions towards assigned customers within the Market Area
  • Develop with marketing efficient sales and marketing strategy to promote the site, its services, and service levels.

What you’ll need to succeed:

The ideal candidate should have a strong business mind-set with financial skills, proven ability to manage a busy workshop environment, and be able to demonstrate equipment/ service sales and profitability. They should have an excellent customer facing skills, and  be able to develop and manage customer relationships.

Ideally you have: 

  • Recognised Business Studies, commercial or technical qualification
  • Likely to have 5 years experience in a commercial workshop/bodybuilding role from within a related industry
  • Experience and knowledge of engineering production, and or bodybuilder operations is also desirable 
  • Good technical skills
  • Ability to work in an international business environment in a matrix organisation
  • Results and achievement driven and eager to create long term relationships
  • High integrity and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Potential and willingness to develop for international assignment.
