Service Manager

HIAB’s Services Division is looking for an experienced self-motivated Service Manager Germany & Austria to join our team! The purpose of this position is to develop and drive service sales and operations both direct and indirect through dealers within the assigned market. To continuously improve the customer satisfaction and experience.

 

Sales refer to aftermarket sales, maintenance and repair contracts, installations, spare parts, digital services, e-commerce, used equipment and accessories.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Strategy

 

  • Ensure execution of route to market and pricing strategy aligned with Hiab’s overall strategy
  • Collaborate with service teams and dealer networks for integrated load-handling solutions
  • Plan and implement service business strategy including business plan and budget
  • Identify potential growth areas and M&A targets

 

Sales

 

  • Drive sales both directly and through dealers
  • Create, maintain and develop the sales & business development funnel
  • Develop and drive an inside sales team 
  • Establish pro-active services portfolio sales culture
  • Provide input on spare parts and service-related pricing and product mix 
  • Roll out digital services and tools for customers to connect their fleet
  • Increase maintenance contracts sales
  • Develop and execute the business growth plan for services portfolio based on the installed base, customer segmentation and sales channels

 

Operations

 

  • Improve the consolidated gross margin and operating margin
  • Maintain the installed base and customer master data
  • Implement services business systems and processes
  • Efficiently manage service workshops to reach set financial, operational and HSE targets 
  • Responsible for the services sales support team 
  • Improve and develop service performance, trough current performance review and recommendations for improvements
  • Accountable for financial and operational performance for the workshops
  • Responsible for local sourcing of direct and indirect spend
  • Responsible for Net Working Capital and keeping stock levels at the right level
  • Liaise with service network and contract management for maintenance plans

 

Training & People

 

  • Drive and develop training for dealers and employees to secure high competence in selling, installing and maintaining our products
  • Responsible for technical training 
  • Implement development programs for service personnel
  • Recruit, train, retain, and manage service resources.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • Educational background in technical and commercial fields 
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in service business, including operational management
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing service business processes, tools, and teams
  • Familiarity with load handling and service business advantageous
  • Proven ability to drive service business sales and profitability
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills 
  • Service management skills including competence in logistics and spare-parts
  • Experience in service sales and business development
  • Innovative and customer-centric approach, collaborating closely with customers, dealers, and internal teams
  • Technical skills and product knowledge
  • Familiarity with systems like SAP; experience implementing new field service tools/processes is advantageous
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, capable of developing high-performing teams and efficiently allocating resources
  • Fluency in English & German.
