End-to-end operational responsibility for AMER aftermarket parts supply chain activities including budget and performances of the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) in Indianapolis, Indiana

Main tasks and responsibilities:
The person in this position is expected to combine the management of the Purchase and Replenishment teams with the management of a 3PL contract for the RDC operations in Indianapolis, Indiana via a hands on approach.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage purchase team members in executing spare parts procurement to deliver desired service level and improve supplier performance in collaboration with Sourcing and Planning
  • Manage the 3PL contract via performance monitoring, deviations follow up and budget control
  • Manage the replenishment and return processes and support team members to deliver desired service level in collaboration with the local Service teams and Planning
  • Closely work together with the FLU Parts Sales teams via proactive communication and support when requested with customers queries and claims 
  • Prioritize when support is needed for an emergency delivery unit down by securing that the team members follow agreed processes, documentation and correct case management tool usage
  • Support the team as a backup for the daily operations in case of absence
  • Lead major distribution center development projects as well as new business integration projects
  • Assist the Transport Manager in managing carrier performance (cost and transit time reliability) through monitoring of KPIs and carrier transactional data. Advise on remedial actions and follow up where performance issues arise.
  • Lead with focus on continuously improving: performance, quality, team motivation and productivity.
  • Ensure that team members receive feedback on their performance regularly, with progress recorded formally according to company policies like Personal Development Plans (PDP)
  • Work collaborative with the European Regional Distribution Center and EMEA SC Operations manager to ensure maximum global efficiency in processes, policies and also in the daily operation interaction whether communication or replenishment of spare parts.
  • All other duties as assigned by your manager with the physical constraints of this job description.

What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Relevant university degree (MSc / BSc) or equivalent 
  • Lean Six-Sigma is a plus



  • Minimum 10 years of experience from similar role preferably with a 3PL operation
  • Background in spare parts distribution is valued
  • Experience from navigating in a global organization
  • Track record as a project manager for major business integrations and warehouse migrations
  • Excellent English skills



  • Well documented leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical and a skilled Excel user
  • Experience with WMS and TMS systems 
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Independent to get things done, but a strong team player
  • Willingness to travel according to needs; also outside the US / to Europe
