Purpose of the position
The position is responsible for authorizing and directing warranty repairs in accordance with Hiab warranty policies in order to ensure customer satisfaction and control direct and indirect warranty costs, as well as timely filing of warranty repairs within the product line warranty system and with vendors as required.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Respond to technician, dealer, and service provider warranty authorization requests (phone, email, techline) with approval or denial of warranty coverage
- Collect and organize information from technicians, dealers, or service providers in order to support successful warranty claim filing in the product line and vendor warranty systems
- Follow up as required on requests for further information to close out claims with the product line and vendors
- Ensure claims meet warranty policy requirements
- Assist with warranty parts return process as required
- Back up technical support phone triage as needed
Accountabilities:
- Timely response to warranty authorization requests
- Timely filing of warranty claims with the product lines and vendors
- Timely return of parts requested by the product lines and vendors
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Working experience:
- Customer service in related role preferred
Skills and competencies:
- Must work well in a team environment
- High integrity and personal responsibility
- Trustworthy and ethical
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
- Proficient in use of computers, email, Microsoft Office Suite (and similar programs), web-based applications
- Organized and excellent time management
