Purpose of the position

 

The VP of Finance & Business Control, HIAB USA is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Hiab USA, including finance business partnering for the sales organization, management of local finance shared services, and oversight of tax and treasury functions. Additionally, the role provides dotted-line leadership for US-based finance positions within Hiab’s global divisions.

 

This position is based at one of Hiab’s U.S. offices, located in Perrysburg, OH.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Acts as the Finance Business Partner for Hiab USA and leader for Finance operations, including local finance shared services, tax and treasury matters

 

  • Key focus areas as Finance Business Partner for Hiab USA 
    • Provides critical and relevant financial information for decision making, covering historical, current and future performance. Taking full responsibility for the Hiab USA Financial Statements 
    • A Hiab USA Leadership team member, supporting Hiab finance initiatives and challenging the organisation to deliver business improvement and value creation. 
    • Collaborating with the Hiab Divisions to provide reliable financial forecasts, financial plans and strategic plans.
    • Leading as the Finance Business Partner in strategy development and strategic programme management - supporting the team with market insights and competitor benchmarking
    • Supporting in tactical decisions to improve all areas of the business in the delivery of excellent business results
    • Ensuring strong control of both ongoing operating costs, working capital and investment initiatives

 

  • Key focus areas as the leader for USA Finance operations:
    • Drive well-controlled and efficient finance operations (ITP, OTC, RTR, tax) in the USA following Hiab’s global processes, instructions and timelines 
    • ensure timely, accurate and transparent IFRS based reporting to group reporting 
    • Develop, harmonize and optimize locally managed processes
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations relating to statutory and tax compliance matters, owner of tax and statutory outsourcing engagement
    • Drive effective external audit processes
    • Accountable for the financial risk management, liquidity and financing of the companies together with Hiab Group Treasury and Tax. Develop local treasury processes to optimize cash management and working capital management. 
    • Ensure that effective risk management practises are followed in the USA, responsible for USA risk insurances

 

  • Building strong and collaborative relationships with the wider Hiab Finance Teams to deliver the most effective, well-controlled and efficient processes through continuous improvement

 

  • Accountable for overall finance matters in the USA, including finance business partnering for the sales organisation, local finance shared services, tax and treasury matters
     

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

 

  • University degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics, or an equal qualification 

 

Experience

 

  • 15+ years of experience in a relevant finance role
  • Experience in leading holistic finance processes: business controlling, financial reporting, finance processes and systems, shared services, tax, treasury, risk management, and process development

 

Competencies

 

  • Good knowledge of IFRS and local regulations for statutory and tax compliance requirements
  • Organization and coordination skills accompanied by excellent prioritization skills
  • Solution-oriented mindset to identify the challenges and focus on the solutions
  • Good communication skills and willingness to communicate and coordinate with different stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of global financial systems (SAP, HFM), Vertex, Sage, and Google
  • Similar industry and in a global business environment, especially where there is a high focus on service
  • Finance process development through continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead a large finance organisation with solid and dotted line organisational responsibilities
  • Ability to influence in a global matrix organisation
  • Passionate about driving performance improvements.
