Purpose of the position

 

The SIOP Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) / Order fulfillment team process to drive alignment between sales forecasts, inventory management, procurement, and production scheduling. This role ensures the seamless integration of truck upfit operations with demand planning, material supply, and production capacity to achieve optimal efficiency, lead time reductions, and customer satisfaction.

In addition, the SIOP Manager will collaborate with Hiab’s global business operations development team and peers across countries to align strategies, share best practices, and implement standardized processes across the company’s global installation network.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

This role requires collaboration with production teams, supply chain, global peers, and office-based functions. Occasional international travel may be needed to vendor sites or other company facilities

 

SIOP Process Management

 

  • Develop and lead the monthly SIOP cycle, ensuring alignment across sales, operations, and supply chain teams
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather accurate demand forecasts and translate them into actionable production and procurement plans
  • Balance inventory levels to avoid stockouts and overstock situations while meeting customer demand

 

Global Collaboration and Best Practices

 

  • Work closely with the global business operations development team to align local SIOP processes with Hiab’s global strategies
  • Share and implement best practices, tools, and methodologies across Hiab’s installation network to ensure consistency and operational excellence
  • Build strong relationships with peers in other countries to foster knowledge exchange and harmonized operational practices
  • Support the rollout of global initiatives, ensuring effective adoption at the local level

 

Demand Planning and Forecasting

 

  • Work with sales and dealer networks to understand customer demand fluctuations, including custom truck upfit requirements
  • Implement advanced forecasting tools and techniques to improve accuracy and reliability
  • Analyze trends, seasonality, and business drivers to refine demand plans continuously

 

Production and Supply Chain Integration

 

  • Align production schedules with procurement activities, ensuring material availability for truck upfit operations
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to maintain optimal lead times for critical components, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Mitigate risks by identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks in production or supply chain processes

 

Performance Metrics and Reporting

 

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery (OTD), inventory turns, and forecast accuracy
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on SIOP outcomes, supply chain performance, and operational challenges
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SIOP efficiency and effectiveness

 

Team Collaboration and Leadership

 

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between sales, operations, supply chain, and finance to ensure unified SIOP goals. Provide training and support to stakeholders involved in the SIOP process
  • Serve as a champion for SIOP-related initiatives, driving cultural adoption of best practices

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field 
    • Master’s degree preferred

 

Working experience:

 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, operations planning, or related roles, preferably in manufacturing or truck upfit operations
  • Proven expertise in SIOP, demand planning, and inventory management processes
  • 2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing and sales environment
  • Google Office Suite
  • ERP (SAP) system experience
  • SIOP experience 

 

Skills and competencies:

 

  • Google Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems and advanced planning tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and geographies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and their application to operations planning is a plus.
