Application Manager

As part of the Business Development management team, the successful applicant will plan, organize and control application related business and equipment development from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Duties for this specific Application Manager Role will have an emphasis on developing and working with new application markets.


Main tasks and responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, identify and track market trends in industry. 
  • Produce competitive analysis materials comparing Hiab products with key competitors in application.
  • Participate in overall application strategy, research, design and development requirements, for new products.
  • Coordinate technical product development, estimates of potential profits and release to production.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product.
  • Coordinate and develop marketing, sales engineering, and financial plans for application related equipment.
  • Report on and Manage day-to-day progress of relevant case sales.
  • Provide financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.
  • Prepare product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.
  • Participate in the building of key business relationship and key sales specifics for the product.
  • Maintain communication and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, and sales information for management.
  • Research and drive business opportunities within scope of company strategy.
  • Attend trade shows and customer events to support area of responsibility.
  • Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Understand, monitor and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • 4 year college degree preferred Working experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years in Truck and Truck equipment sales
  • Minimum of two (3) years’ hands on experience with Hiab Equipment. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Hiab Products
  • Excellent knowledge of On Road Loading Handling and Trucking industry product function and application.
  • Ability to lead marketing activities/events at new product launch
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills both oral and written
  • Understand and have working knowledge of profit/loss accountability.
  • Ability to establish a reliable forecast for order intake
  • Ability to effectively report monthly activities
  • Ability to make decisions independently
  • Good computer skills
