Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will constantly keep an eye to the future of the organisation, identify, and eliminate short and long– term problems that may occur. In this position you will iInterface with & coordinate related activities of other departments as required to support production needs. You will define and improve the standard work in the value stream, be the owner of ERP Master Data, BOMs & standard times as well as sustain and develop technical aspects in the value stream, drive productivity improvements, including implementation of new manufacturing techniques and digitalization. Last but not least you will maintain and develop tooling.
The position will be based in Minerbio, Italy.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Safety
Following company safety regulations and rules, promoting company safety culture, implementing safety improvements
Assist with all lost time incidents and reporting, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Quality
Maintain ERP system BOMs – routings and standard times
Define standard work and standard operating procedures, support team to create and update new SOPs
Implement quality-related improvements in production
Delivery
Work with value stream manager/leader to develop the support structure including information flow and systems, and process reviews. Introduction of NPI process, provide input on DFM/DFA, SOPs, ERP routing and standard times in conjunction with R&D and the NPI team
Visual management from concept to implementation. Write procedures necessary to support cargo-manufacturing systems.
Coordinate implementation of engineering changes and the change processes
Creation and use of the value stream map so as to aid productivity
Ownership of line balancing so as to smooth the labour loading
Responsible for Cell design and line layout in line with the VSM and VSLs
Provide training on new methods to the value stream team
Assist with the rapid transition to an excellent visual production system for Hiab Operating production systems
Inventory
Implementing technical solutions for material handling, location of material around workstations
Productivity
Lead Kaizen events within the value stream as required, to include value stream mapping, line balancing.
Lead the training and implementation of lean manufacturing tools and concepts including 6S, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance etc.
Project manager for technical improvement projects
What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree /BSc in Engineering related discipline or similar experience
- Strong experience from mechanical industry and assembly operations
- Systems (ERP) knowledge
- Working knowledge LEAN principles (such as Six Sigma)
- Experience with project management
- Knowledge and awareness of modern manufacturing methods and tools and strong technical understanding of manufactured products and it’s functionality
- Experience with engineering drawing tools (Computer Literacy, particularly in Google suite, experience in Microsoft Visio and Autocad/Solidworks/Pro-E(Creo).
- Good co-operations skills with internal and external parties
- Analytical approach
- LSS-Yellow belt/Green belt
- Experience with systems and tools such as ERP, A3, Kaizen, TPM, LEAN is desired
- English requirement: written Excellent, spoken Good
