Global Senior Transportation Manager, Hiab

Purpose of the position

We are looking for an experienced professional to join Hiab as Global Senior Transportation Manager to manage a global portfolio of €60-70M freight cost by optimizing customer delivery performance, securing the best in class cost and customer service levels. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

•    Hiab global freight budgets, budget control, contract coverage and improvement initiatives;
•    Initiate and design RFQs aligned with Cargotec transport strategy and category management, including contract realization;
•    Ensure correct insurance and compensation terms are included in the contracts to recover loss and damages;
•    Hiab global implementation of RFQ results in cooperation with operational teams;
•    Final operational escalation support and (cost) dispute resolution;
•    Support Hiab entities with local transport requirements, freight pricing, contracts etc, including follow up on booking behavior like correct mode or service selection;
•    Manage relationship with transport partners and run periodic performance reviews for the major providers;
•    Regular reporting to management of major global transport developments and deviations;
•    Develop and enhance transport solutions;

•    Realize freight savings and budgets as agreed with management;
•    Full visibility freight costs and savings, including freight costs recovery;
•    Transport performance targets as agreed with management;
•    Excellent carrier relationships;
•    Accurate global freight insights, trends reported to management.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree within a relevant area, for example, Logistics or Supply Chain Management;
• Minimum 10 years relevant sourcing and/or sales experience(“both sides of the negotiation table” experiences at one of the bigger carriers is a premium);
• Leading negotiations and freight contract management;
• Experience from navigating in a global matrix organization;
• Excellent English skills;
• Experiences with TMS and SAP(or other ERP software);
• Aftermarket parts supply logistics experience valued;
• Leadership experience will be an advantage;
• Negotiation, networking, and communication skills;
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills and proficiency in analytical tools including Excel, SQL, QlikView/Power BI/Tableau;
• Self-starter & Self-motivated and able to drive change;
