We are seeking a service minded and result driven candidate to join our Hiab Benelux Division as a Business Analyst Freight. In this role you will analyse transportation needs across Hiab and will propose mode and carrier optimizations based freight costs and performance data as well as service needs. Further the analyst will drive the invoice verification process jointly with the freight invoice auditors, the timely carrier payments and support the reporting to management for Services as well as Hiab overall. Lastly the analyst will take part of the RFQ processes and assist with analytics to select the best-fit option. 
The analyst will be a key person in driving TMS (Transport Management System) enhancements.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

The person in this position will report to the Global Senior Transport Manager Hiab, will be part of the Hiab transport team and is expected to work jointly with the Cargotec transport team.

 

  • Analysis of freight spend details, report the findings and initiate actions on deviations where necessary
  • Work with freight auditors globally to optimise the freight invoice verification and approval process
  • Secure freight price accuracy in the applicable systems, such as the freight optimizer in SAP
  • Determine and propose the most cost-effective methods for transporting goods without sacrificing efficiency and timeliness
  • Discuss the findings with operational teams, monitor and follow up on their actions
  • Monthly freight cost reporting and prepare business presentations for Hiab Services and globally
  • Enhance these reports and presentation where desired
  • Support transport sourcing via RFQ datasets preparation and RFQ analysis

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • Secure correct invoice verification and processing against agreed budgets
  • Report budget deviations and initiate mitigation actions
  • Secure system freight data accuracy
  • Timely KPIs reporting and propose improvements
  • Tender preparation & analytics precision
  • Review and follow up on reported savings, report deviations to management

 

Health & Safety and Policies:

 

  • Ensure transportation procurement adheres to company values and policies.
  • To further strengthen our logistics sustainability work (Co2 reporting etc.)

 

Other:

 

  • Take an active role in the transportation forum
  • Secure SOP and appropriate documents to be able to ship
  • Take part in carrier evaluations
  • Maintain supplier database
     

What you’ll need to succeed

 

 

Education:

 

  • Academic education in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics or corresponding knowledge acquired through work experience

 

Working experience:

 

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience

 

Competence and skills:

 

  • Superior excel user with strong analytical skills
  • Experienced working with SAP and TMS systems
  • Additional software/programing skills desired, Google BigQuery & Data Studio, MC Power BI
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally in the organisation, to build a network and a team player
  • Taking initiatives and see the bigger picture
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Good English proficiency
  • Strong analytical & structured mindset 
  • Ability to communicate complex analytics in a comprehensive way
  • A strong interest in digitalization
