We are looking for an Installation Technician - Boilermaker/Welder, based in Dandenong and reporting to the Installations Team Leader.

The purpose of the job is to install, test, and commission cranes, hook lifts, Moffett forklifts, and other hydraulic mechanical equipment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Welding subframes and components 
  • Plasma cutting as required
  • Fitting cranes, hooklifts and truck mounted forklifts
  • Relocating chassis components such as air tanks, fuel tanks, etc
  • Machine modifications such as bin rest, hook height modifications

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Formal trade qualification (Boilermaker/Welder) 
  • Experience with mig welding techniques (Will need to pass a weld test) 
  • Be able to remove and reinstall chassis components 
  • Experience working with trucks / cranes / heavy equipment 
  • Previous experience in a similar role 
  • Forklift licence and overhead crane experience
  • Familiar with engineering drawings
  • Experience working unsupervised 
  • Effective time management skills
  • Willing to undergo training 
  • Sound analytical and numeracy skills 
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to deal with all stakeholders in the business)
  • Customer-oriented and relationship-building 
  • Team player 
  • Ensure that assets of the company in your control (vehicle, mobile phone, material, etc) are maintained and kept in good condition and in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.


Salary for the role is negotiable depending on experience. This is a great opportunity to join a global market leader. You must have the applicable rights to work in Australia to be considered.
