We are looking for an innovative R&D Graduate who is passionate about technology and wants to contribute in developing our next generation products with a focus on sustainable solutions. The Hiab Global Graduate Programme is a 15 month full-time paid programme and we are looking for candidates with a MSc or PhD degree in a relevant technology field.


This position is based in one of the HIAB sites, Kaarina, Tampere, Raisio or Helsinki, Finland.

In the role as a R&D Graduate your will:

What you’ll need to succeed:


We are looking for a team player who eagerly takes on new responsibilities and curiously seeks for improvements in the ways of working. The main task is to study current simulation environment to support product design and development of special applications. Targets and priorities of the task will be adjusted according to the candidate's profile. To succeed in this role the following is needed:


  • PhD or MSc degree in a relevant technology field - Mechanics/Mechatronics Engineering preferred, but other areas can be considered as well, for example, Electrical, Control Systems or Hydraulics Engineering
  • Simulation experience (Mechanics preferred, but other areas can be considered, as well)
  • Knowledge and experience on the following tools: Ansys products and Matlab Simulink
  • Programming skills in Python and/or C, C++ are considered as an advantage
  • Great skills in written and verbal communication in English
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
  • Self-driven and proactive approach as well as being structured and analytical 
  • Interested in learning more about the industry, customers and strategy


Technology profile or interest towards one or more of the following areas;


  • Embedded systems, edge computing and Internet of Things
  • Automation, Control Systems and Sensor technology for working equipment
  • Structural calculations
  • Data-driven equipment operation analysis and maintenance predictions
  • Simulations
  • Digital Twin
