Purpose of the position

Hiab is looking for a summer trainee to join our global Legal & Compliance team which provides legal support to all our divisions and central functions. In this position, your work will cover several fields of law ranging from international contract law and company law to IP law. You will have the possibility to get to know Hiab’s business and learn about the role of in-house lawyers. You will also work closely with the General Counsel which gives you the possibility to experience the daily tasks at corporate level in a listed company. 
 
This is a fulltime position for the summer months (June-August) and continuing as part-time for the rest of the term. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months with start / end dates to be agreed between the parties. The position is located in Helsinki. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Assisting Legal Counsels in their daily work including contract drafting
• Taking care of trademark issues
• Researching legal information
• Achieving legal material.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Studies in law (a third or fourth year law student)
• Experience in working both independently and in a highly collaborative environment
• A can-do attitude and a proactive approach to both complex issues as well as to very routine work
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Experience in a similar position or in a law firm would be seen as an advantage.
