Indirect Sourcing Director

Purpose of the position


  • Build a global indirect sourcing community across divisions and sites to lead and transform indirect procurement in Hiab with a focus on high performance and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Hiab Sourcing representative in the Cargotec Indirect Procurement Leadership team, function development and overall ownership of sourcing deliverables on indirect sourcing categories that is directly visible in divisional P&L.
  • Create and develop roadmaps to execute category strategies, supplier preferencing and reduction / consolidation to maximise total acquisition cost with sustainable and operational performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring promotion of indirect sourcing and collaboration with the Cargotec indirect sourcing categories, operational site  procurement  teams and Front Line Units.


Key accountabilities:

  • Drive significant reduction in Indirect sourcing costs for the Hiab business with a focus from category strategy through to roadmap execution and benefit realisation to P&L.
  • Establish spend analytics, global KPIs and secure compliance to the operating model to drive accountability for total cost of ownership of indirect spend.
  • Identify and prioritise synergy, spend consolidation and continuous improvement opportunities within Hiab with detailed plans for execution and benefit tracking.
  • Responsible for driving Hiab implementation of end-to-end source to pay process improvements supporting indirect procurement in cooperation with Cargotec Indirect Procurement team
  • Develop a framework for spend control and reporting together with Finance Controlling and Cargotec Indirect Procurement team 
  • Execute indirect procurement strategy and roadmap in alignment with Cargotec Indirect Procurement.
  • Support Hiab business planning and target setting together with the key stakeholders. 
  • Development of supplier risk management and supplier improvement programs together with operations and supply chain functions to drive productivity, increase NWC, cash generation and secure efficiencies in operations.
  • Oversee and monitor the execution of  risk and compliance activities

What you’ll need to succeed:


Third level degree and/or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline.
Membership of relevant professional bodies (for example, CIPS)



  • At least 7-10 years of relevant global industrial experience (truck, construction machines, mining, agriculture or automotive).
  • At least 7-10 years within a Sourcing or Supply Chain role, 5 years of which should be at Senior Management level, within a multinational, multi-site, global company.
  • Leading global teams directly or in matrix across multiple geographies
  • Experience successfully leading transformational change



  • Continuous improvement mindset, change leadership and management with process focus and benefit realisation mindset.
  • Senior level development and implementation of long term business relationships and/or strategy in business or operations. 
  • Strong people management and influencing skills and experience.
  • Superior communication skills – Oral, written and formal presentation skills towards stakeholders and senior management.
