Purpose of the position

 

 

We are looking for an experienced Fitter to join our team at Hiab. The role Fitter is a temporary position that is responsible for assembly and installation of hiab products within our workshop.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

 

  • Responsible for installations of our multilift hookloader
  • Responsible for the skip loader equipment based at our installations workshop at HIAB
  • Responsible to undertake the installation of Hiab loader cranes
     

What you’ll need to succeed

 

 

Education:

 

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification

 

Experience:

 

  • Demonstrable technical experience in a similar installation role
  • Experience of working with the relevant mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ideally experience with working on loader cranes, hook loaders and skip loaders

 

Competence and skills required

 

  • Have experience working in a busy workshop environment
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Use of both hand and power tools
  • To be able to work with/without supervision or part of a team
  • Organised, possess good problem-solving skills and initiative
  • The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Keen eye for detail and maintain high standards
  • Punctual & good time management skills
  • Basic use of IT
  • Adhere to Hiab h&s culture complying with all safe working practices
