Purpose of the position
We are looking for an experienced Fitter to join our team at Hiab. The role Fitter is a temporary position that is responsible for assembly and installation of hiab products within our workshop.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Responsible for installations of our multilift hookloader
- Responsible for the skip loader equipment based at our installations workshop at HIAB
- Responsible to undertake the installation of Hiab loader cranes
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification
Experience:
- Demonstrable technical experience in a similar installation role
- Experience of working with the relevant mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ideally experience with working on loader cranes, hook loaders and skip loaders
Competence and skills required
- Have experience working in a busy workshop environment
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Use of both hand and power tools
- To be able to work with/without supervision or part of a team
- Organised, possess good problem-solving skills and initiative
- The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- Keen eye for detail and maintain high standards
- Punctual & good time management skills
- Basic use of IT
- Adhere to Hiab h&s culture complying with all safe working practices
