Control Systems Software Engineer

We are currently seeking a Control Systems Software Engineer to join our team at Hiab Dundalk – Ireland.
Purpose of the role:
- Working as part of a team within the Control Systems department responsible for new electronic /electrical development for TMFL including connectivity, control system applications;
- Work within Engineering Office Procedures and Standards;
- Assist with the analysis of customer requirements to identify project requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Developing technical solutions in electrics / electro hydraulics – NPD & PLC applications;
- Assist with the electrical development for TMFL including harness design and component specification;
- Ensure designs are safe and rated for use in TMFL environment and signed off by suppliers;
- Document system functions and assist in the development of work instructions;
- Involved with other engineers to integrate the electronic wiring harness and its components into any
- new TMFL designs;
- Involved in the production of technical publications;
- Liaise with all departments to support new systems and provide support to resolve customer complaints;
- Where necessary prepare and execute testing of new and existing electrical designs.
Position requirements:
- B.Sc or M.Sc Electrical / Electronic engineering;
- Programming tools (C, C++, CodeSys, C#, .net);
- Min 3 years in any of the following disciplines: Automation / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering;
- Strong communication and reporting skills (verbal and in writing);
- Confident at challenging the status quo and open to adapting new technologies or techniques;
- Familiarity with ECAD drawing package or other CAD packages;
- Simulation tools (MatLab, Simulink and Simulink extensions);
- Ability to analyse problems and derive solutions;
- Ability to manage project requirements and schedules;
- Project management experience an advantage;
- Work as necessary in the Production environment and assist with TMF commissioning;
- Willingness to travel internationally as required and meet customers and suppliers;
- Motivated self starter who is an innovator and has high clock speed with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
