Do you have experience in continuous improvement, spearheading the manufacturing engineering strategy and implementing innovative solutions to achieve best-in-class performance? We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering and Operational Excellence  Manager, who will foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across manufacturing.


By joining our team you will have the opportunity to provide technical leadership within a matrix environment, foster the professional development of manufacturing engineers, oversee plant maintenance, and ensure all production methods adhere to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
This position will be based in Dundalk, Ireland. You will report to the Operations Director. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and management of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support productivity improvements and growth objectives
  • Continuously work on engineering solutions to reduce risk in the production processes
  • Ensuring quality standards within the manufacturing engineering department
  • Management of ECO (Engineering Change Order) implementation and tracking
  • Develop, implement and track department budgets and head-count requirements on a monthly cycle
  • Manage the Manufacturing Engineering team, performance management and development
  • Promote & develop a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the value stream
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Ownership and development of sustainability roadmap to reduce CO2 emissions in alignment with Hiab targets.
     

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or science
  • 7 to 10  years’ experience working in a manufacturing engineering environment
  • 5 years’ experience in a management role
  • Technical knowledge of volume manufacturing engineering practices
  • Working knowledge Lean Six sigma problem solving techniques
  • In depth knowledge and experience of DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Critical thinking and decision making
  • Project management skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Flexibility in travel, work hours, tasks and responsibilities ensuring adaptation to production cycles
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal.
