Inventory and Shipping Coordinator

To perform a range of tasks with the warehouse and shipping teams to coordinate the management of raw materials, and the all shipping of finished goods to customers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Generate cycle counts for warehouse operatives
● Process cycle count results and investigate inventory variances
● Perform root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and trends
● Establish, monitor, and improve processes for controlling and reporting inventory
● Perform trend analysis on inventory management
● Lead resolution of issues affecting inventory management
● Complete scheduled and ad hoc inventory counts
● Communicate proactively with stakeholders on inventory issues
● Work independently on inventory tracking and monitoring
● Participate in the annual stock take
● Book road, sea, and air freight for inbound and outbound shipments
● Create Packing Lists and Invoices within the ERP system for outbound shipments
● Coordinate shipment times with output from production
● Perform accuracy checks of documents supplied for shipping purposes
● Communicate shipment details with relevant documents to freight providers and relevant stakeholders
● Complete weekly and monthly reporting of freight
● Support projects requiring immediate data extraction, manipulation and reporting
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
● Strong secondary education – Mathematics and English.
● Degree not necessary, but desirable.
Experience:
● 1 year of experience of working in an inventory or shipping department.
● Strong logistics industry knowledge, understanding freight routes, shipping lines.
● Understanding of customs and declaration requirements per country.
● ERP experience with inventory or logistics modules.
Competencies:
● Working under pressure, making fast & sound decisions.
● Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
● Must be able to coordinate and communicate throughout the shipping chain.
● Must have strong organizational & administrative skills.
● Experience with spreadsheet preparation and analysis.
● Analytical approach; able to perform queries on multiple applications, identify trends and anomalies with data and draw accurate conclusions.
