Logistic Controller

We are looking for an experienced Logistic Controller to provide administrative support to the wokshop activities of the installations department at our Hiab Scotland depot.

On this position, you will liaise with suppliers/customers to provide a consistently high level of service and should be able to respond and adapt in a demanding commercial environment. You will also be working with various Sales and Service departments across the Hiab UK network.
The role is based in Cumbernauld and will be reporting to the Service Manager – Scotland.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
•    Ordering online stock for installation builds
•    Managing consumable stocks & spare parts for both workshop and field service engineers
•    Generating purchase orders for vendors’ payments where required
•    Implement & manage a cost savings tracker for procurement
•    Collection and processing of engineers’ paperwork and calculating on-call & overtime payments for payroll, ensuring submission prior to payroll deadline
•    Maintaining records for monthly KPI information 
•    Assisting with field engineer van stock requirements
•    Managing parts sales
•    Control, update and monitoring of Work In Progress
•    Maintaining and organising Goods in and Goods out process, including liaising with carriers
•    Managing Goods In process of installation kits & ancillary items, ensuring all items are accounted for, and reporting any shortfalls immediately to head office for rectification
•    Loading / Unloading of deliveries & collections, using FLT 
•    Adherence to Company procedures and processes.

What you’ll need to succeed:

The successful applicant is a team player and is flexible with regards to tasks performed. They should be self-motivated, capable of working under pressure, and able to operate with minimal supervision. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key to this role, as well as the confidenece and comfort to interfact with other departments and stakeholders.

Ideally you have:

●    GCSE Level of education
●    Demonstrable experience of providing excellent customer service, working in a fast paced commercial environment in an administrative role
●    Very good I.T. skills, including MS Office 
●    SAP system knowledge would be preferable but is not essential
●    Engineering background preferable but not essential
●    Ability to travel upon occasion to other sites.
