Senior Country HR Advisor

Purpose of the position:


Being part of the CBS Country HR Organization, HR Advisor provides local HR operational support and expert advice for the units and legal entities on HR processes, (whole HR cycle,  from recruitment to termination), supporting the management team with HR issues and initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, HR Policies, and Procedures.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Provide meaningful and expert local HR input, support, advice and guidance to line managers and the management team
  • Provide input, guidance and support on site, for specific expertise areas, (payroll, employee relations, time and attendance, labor and social security legislation, short-term assignments, recruitment, and the rest of HR issues and processes
  • Provide local support on local HR generalist activities during the whole HR cycle, including topics like restructuring, recruitment, and terminations
  • Effective resolution of site HR operational issues, including blue collar & white-collar issues
  • Day to day management of Employee Relations issues, maintaining constructive works council relationships & ensuring compliance with employment legislation, HR Policies & Procedures
  • Drive hiring actions of blue collar recruitments and employee development in a factory environment
  • Oversee compliance responsibilities, such as payroll, social security contributions, insurances, data protection and the rest of Legal Labor and social security requirements
  • Work in collaboration with relevant parties to ensure cost efficient and reliable payroll operations
  • Delivery of country training or workshops activities for line managers and employees
  • Support the implementation of, and training of line managers in, applicable HR processes/projects/initiatives
  • Ensuring efficient employment life cycle HR processes and HR yearly clock actions 
  • Support Implementation of Country HR Policies
  • Support Cargotec HR annual cycle processes (PDP, salary review and bonus payout, Compass) in respective site/s
  • Support all HR Initiatives on site, including work wellbeing initiatives, cooperating with respective stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice, from the labor law point of view to the H&S organization on H&S issues, supporting and attending to labor inspection requirements
  • Local admin or manual activities on site, which are not in scope for the central team, including HR, document management
  • Contact person on site for local labor and social security authorities
  • HR reporting Data as required, HR KPIs, HR Data analytics.

What you’ll need to succeed:




  • Educational background: Relevant Bachelor or Master Level Degree.
  • Professional HR degree or Master
  • H&S Masters is a Benefit





  • At least 10 years of previous experience in human resource processes, in a similar position within an international environment.
  • Ideally, experience in managing HR issues in a production environment with a high number of employees.
  • Previous experience with operating in a centralized HR environment is a benefit.




  • Strong and solid knowledge of Spanish Labour & Social Security law.
  • Deep knowledge and experience managing HR processes and tools
  • Strong knowledge of the Payroll process
  • English language oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service mindset
  • Hands-On, operational approach with the willingness to be involved in a wide range of business activities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks; work independently, and capability to solve issues without having to escalate
  • Strong verbal & written Communication Skills
  • Methodical, analytical skills,  good attention to detail
  • Strong Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly collaborative - ability to build and maintain good relations, trust and cooperation with all key stakeholders
