We build and expand our digital solutions to offer a great customer experience and more efficient business processes. Digital Solutions Hub in Tampere, Finland, will focus on accelerating the launch of new digital and data-driven services in all Cargotec business areas, Kalmar, Hiab and MacGregor. The hub will provide expertise and robust processes for the business areas and business lines to plan, design and build new digitally enabled services and products. The new digital offering will be developed using modern software development tools and methods in a systematic and focused way by a dedicated development team together with the business lines’ product managers, providing a fast track to business lines to create new revenue streams utilising opportunities enabled by digitalisation. 

We are looking for Scrum Master / Process Champion, Digital Solutions Hub to join Cargotec Corporate business.

The position holder will report to Tommi Pettersson, VP Digital Solutions Hub.  The position will be based at Cargotec office in Tampere.
 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

The purpose of the role is to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of Digital Solutions Hub software development. You will strongly contribute to building the ways of working utilizing already existing methods, tools and practices. Your role will be to act as an  internal expert on agile development methods. As a key member of Digital Solutions HUB management, actively participate in and contribute to unit’s Strategy development and implementation. The main areas of responsibilities within the job will be:

  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers 
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most of out self organization 
  • Assessing the development methods maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization 
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment. 
  • Building a trusting environment where problems can be raised and solved and organization can learn from problems
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. Facilitating discussion, decision making and conflict resolution 
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information 
  • Supporting and educating the product owners and product managers, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog. 

What you’ll need to succeed:

Ideally you have:

  • M.Sc in relevant field 
  • Deep knowledge on agile approaches like scrum, Kanban, Crystal, Safe, FDD, LeSS, etc. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team 
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. 
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency 
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for continuous improvement (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  • Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus) 
  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) 
  • Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II) 
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques in Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs,etc)
  • Previous experience as a team lead 
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills 
  • General SW development experience
  • Fluent co-operation with software developers, testers, UX/UI designers and product managers and other internal stakeholders
  • Fluent communications and presentations skills
  • Ability to adapt to different (non technical) audiences (from CxO to engineering level)
  • Passion to grow customer process understanding in cargo handling industry
  • Fluency in English is essential, other languages being an asset.
