Cargotec Digital Solutions Hub creates data-driven software and services for intelligent cargo handling for all of the three Cargotec businesses: Kalmar, Hiab and MacGregor. We are now looking for a DevOps Engineer to join us in Tampere.


You will be a member of our team developing digital software products for our customers and building DevOps capabilities for various projects including AWS-based IoT cloud platform.

You appreciate working in a cross-functional setup and engaging with various internal and external stakeholders, ranging from developers and data scientists to designers and business owners.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will actively create self-service solutions for developers to deliver software with great speed and quality. Your main responsibilities include automating cloud infrastructure creation and developing testing and CI/CD pipelines for a modern cloud-based IoT platform and data driven applications. You help development and testing teams to build test assets and test automation, and help them to reach their release targets. You are able to communicate effectively when analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues together with other developers and stakeholders.

We will empower you to use tools and technologies that will allow you to work in the most efficient manner. You will help your team to deliver on its goals and continuously improve its ways of working.


Our ideal candidate has:


● M.Sc (Eng.) or B.Sc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
● Experience in utilizing DevOps practices in SW development projects
● Good programming skills in e.g. Python, shell scripting, Java, or JavaScript
● Experience in build pipeline technologies, such as Jenkins pipelines, BitBucket Pipelines or GitLab CI/CD
● Exposure to working with cloud platforms like Amazon AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
● Familiarity with test automation and SW testing methods, tools, and processes
● Readiness to learn new skills, challenge established practices, and work in cross-functional teams
● Familiarity with lean software development methods
● Proficiency in English (written and verbal)


Additionally, we appreciate:


● Previous experience as a developer
● Previous experience as a system administrator
● Experience with widely utilized generic cloud technologies, such as Linux and Docker
