We build and expand our digital solutions to offer a great customer experience and more efficient business processes. Digital Solutions Hub in Tampere, Finland, will focus on accelerating the launch of new digital and data-driven services in all Cargotec business areas, Kalmar, Hiab and MacGregor. The hub will provide expertise and robust processes for the business areas and business lines to plan, design and build new digitally enabled services and products. The new digital offering will be developed using modern software development tools and methods in a systematic and focused way by a dedicated development team together with the business lines’ product managers, providing a fast track to business lines to create new revenue streams utilising opportunities enabled by digitalisation.

The new team of experts will report to Chief Software Engineer, Digital Solutions Hub.  

All positions will be based at Cargotec office in Tampere.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

The team will provide high level expertise to Cargotec business areas on building SW solutions on data and intelligent data usage. The team will actively participate in development and maintenance utilizing agreed tools and methods. Cloud backend software engineers will participate Developing IoT pipelines on streaming data using Kinesis & Lambda, mastering data ingestion from business systems, provisioning data for consumers thru REST-based interfaces, developing workflows for analytics and Data lake.

  • Solid experience architecting, designing and programming applications in an AWS Cloud environment
  • AWS certificate (s) or similar work experience
  • Hands-on programing skills in any of the following: Python, Java, Node.js, or Scala
  • Experience architecting and developing scalable systems with Kubernetes or ECS
  • Experience of for developing serverless workflows with Glue & Lambda
  • Experience with Cloud automation and configuration management software, like CloudFormation, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience using AWS PaaS components such as Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, EMR
  • Test engineers will maintain and develop automated tests for software components according to roadmaps, ensuring that test design and test automation follow architecture and DevOps requirements. In this role you will act as trusted experts who communicate defects or trends to software developers, outlining how defects are identified and possible causes, which is why you will need to be aware of functional testing techniques with ability to execute test scenarios and raise defects.
  • Experience with common testing tools like Jenkins and Robot Framework is expected
  • DevOps engineers will support strategies and developing automation scripts and solutions for the purpose of streamlining, implementing, and testing software. They will actively participate in developing self-service solutions for the organization in order to deliver software with great speed and quality.

What you’ll need to succeed:

Ideally uou have:

  • M.Sc (eng) or B.Sc, software engineering or computer science
  • Experience in software development, methods, tools or testing projects
  • Understanding of software development cycle
  • Analytical thinking skills, 
  • Ability to analyse changes to, or the development of, products and services and plan design
  • Skills to demonstrate practical approach and identify the best techniques and improvement opportunities
  • Ability to monitor team’s progress against agreed standards
  • Able to stay abreast of industry trends and developments to make cost-effective use of new and emerging tools and technologies
  • “Can do it” attitude
  • Communication skills, ability to influence, explain, collaborate and inform
  • Understanding the importance of customer focus, anticipating change and proactively providing solutions
  • Skills to work collaboratively with all team members to help achieve common team’s goals and business objectives
  • Being naturally curious and a lifelong learner
  • Fluency in English is essential, other languages being an asset.
